Description
The Tour starts at Piazza Venezia, the geographical centre of Rome. There are plenty of curiosities to learn about the Victor Emanuel’s Monument, the Talking Statues, the Pine Cone Fountain and Mussolini’s balcony.
Our first stop will be at the Ghetto, the Jewish district. Let’s discover together the History of the Ghetto, the Portico of Ottavia, the Theatre of Marcellus and Piazza Mattei with the fountain of the Turtles.
We head to Largo Argentina, one of the most important squares in the city. There are four Roman Republican Temples and the ruins of Pompey’s Theatre. Maybe some of you know this place and what happened here. If you don’t, then you will be surprised!
We are now near the market square Campo dei Fiori. Here we try some typical delicacies of Roman street food such as supplì and a crispy white pizza with mortadella. We walk just a few step to reach Palazzo Spada, Via Giulia and Piazza Farnese, quite places rich of history, art and curiosities.
It is now time for a wine tasting in a cosy wine-bar of Rome. We taste three great Italian wines and compare the difference between them. We accompain the wine with some taralli and coppiette, typical Italian snacks.
We say hi to the talking statue of Pasquino and take a stroll in beautiful Piazza Navona passing through narrow streets near Palazzo Madama, the Senate Office Building. Piazza Navona is a lovely square that hides many folktales, you will find out more about the most famous baroque artists Bernini and Borromini.
On the way to the Pantheon we stop at Piazza della Minerva with the Elephant of Bernini, in front of Santa Maria della Minerva’s church. This place offers interesting anedoctes and amusing stories that most of the tourists passing by cannot even imagine. The Pantheon is an Ancient Temple built to honour all the Gods. Today it is a christian church, Chiesa di Santa Maria ad Martyres.
Only a few steps from there we can visit the church St’Ignazio, decorated with a fake cupola and the temple of the emperor Hadrian. Rome is like an open museum full of history and hidden statues, if you know where to find them. Very interesting are some curious decorations from an ancient Egyptian temple such as the obelisk, the little cat, the talking statue and the big foot marble.
We finish the tour with a delicious Italian dessert, perfect finish for a unique tour.

I had the best of times with Erik and Riccardo tasting wines, and later, also sharing dinner! Not only did I learn lots about wine tasting, but I also got an incredibly informative tour on our way from the different wine tasting spots (going from Piazza Farnese via Campo de´Fiori to Trastevere). Both Erik and Riccardo are friendly and I felt incredibly comfortable in their company. I also felt that the tour was catered to my level of knowledge and wishes. Both are knowledgable about their subject matters indeed, but they are good accommodating the knowledge of then crowd they are speaking to as well! Would highly recommend taking a tour with Erik, and Riccardo if it is wine tasting you’re interested in, as my experience doing so was simply excellent! Thanks a ton for making my Saturday night a blast!

We spent an afternoon with Eric in Rome last week. A walking food and art tour. It was the best decision and enormous fun. Two boys aged 9 and 10 and grandparents. He amused all of us and the boys thought he was especially wonderful. They are still talking about him, all the things they learnt and the ice cream making experience. The grandparents also learnt a lot of new fascinating facts and loved the delicious ice cream.
