Day 1: Arrival in Rome
Arrive at one of the Airports of Rome, both located about 40 minutes from the city centre. Our staff will be there to welcome you. Transfer with taxi to the hotel/apartment located in the city centre of Rome. Check-in at Hotel Raffaello (or similar) or choose among our selected Accommodation in the very centre of Rome. Once you have settled in your hotel let’s have a walking tour with a Licensed Guide of Rome through the beautiful Squares of the city and through the ruins of the Ancient Rome. We will toss a coin into the Romantic Trevi Fountain, we visit the ancient Stadium of Domitian at Piazza Navona, the impressive Pantheon, the best preserved Roman monument, the ruins of the Roman Forum and the Colosseum (from outside). We have dinner in one of the most authentic Roman neighborhood, Trastevere. At the trattoria Popi Popi (or similar) we taste some typical roman specialties such as antipasti Misti, Roman main plate (abbacchio, saltimbocca) tiramisu´ and vino della casa. Overnight in Rome.
Day 2: Walking Guided Tour and Food Tour in Rome
Begin your second day in Rome with a typical Italian Breakfast with the best Cornetto (Roman word for Croissant) and Cappuccino near the Vatican. Our guide tells you about the smallest independent State in the world and shows you the impressive decorations at St Peter s square. We walk in front Castel Sant Angelo and reach Campo De Fiori, the Roman Market where we have a pizza in the Pizzeria Ai Balestrari (or similar).
Free time after lunch, we meet again in the afternoon to have our best seller experience in Rome: Food Wine and Hidden Secrets. During the walking tour our authorized guide shows you some hidden corners of Rome such as the Jewish Ghetto, the fountain of the turtles, the fountain of the books, St Eustachio church, some masterpieces by Caravaggio, St Ignazio, the theatre of Marcellus. We also try 6 food tastings paired with 6 wines such as white pizza with mortadella, suppli, cheese, pasta carbonara, gelato etc. Overnight stay in a Central area of Rome.
Day 3: Transfer to Villa Castrucci, Stop in Tarquinia for lunch and visit the UNESCO Etruscan Necropolis
Breakfast in Rome. Transfer with minivan and driver to Tarquinia to visit one of the best preserved Etruscan Necropolis with impressive original Frescoes dating back to 3000 years ago. Typical lunch in the small medieval city of Tarquinia with antipasti, a plate with wild boar, dessert and vino della casa. Free time to have a stroll in the picturesque village of Tarquinia after lunch. Arrival at Villa Castrucci in the afternoon, a luxury villa in the province of Grosseto in the south part of Tuscany. The Villa is surrounded by olive trees and vineyards, has two swimming pools, gym, billiards room, jacuzzi, solarium, a park etc. In this period of time the colors of nature are simply stunning. Free time for dinner. Possibility to organize a barbecue in the big garden available. Overnight at Villa Castrucci.
Day 4: Free day to explore the area
International breakfast. You can spend your day relaxing on the nearby coast of the Maremma, in places as Talamone,Castiglione della Pescaia, the ‘Argentario, or enjoying the open air of the natural environment as national parks and hot springs, or doing trekking , mountain biking, horseback riding, golf, sailing, diving or doing water sports. Free time for lunch and dinner. There is a fully equipped kitchen or you can decide to try some nearby trattorias with Tuscan specialties. Overnight at Villa Castrucci.
Day 5: Monster Park of Bomarzo, Civita di Bagnoregio and Viterbo
International breakfast at Villa Castrucci. Pick up at Villa castrucci and transportation with minivan and driver to the Monster Park in Bomarzo. Guided tour with authorized guide of the Mystic park. Later we have transfer and short Walking Tour of Civita di Bagnoregio also called the “Dying City” since the edges of the tufa hill are falling. The town is likely to disappear in the future. For lunch we stop at a country house where we have a cooking lesson with Ornella and we learn how to cook fresh pasta, fried antipasti and veal in different art. Hopefully we will also eat something. We eat what we cook! Afternoon in Viterbo and its Medieval District of San Pellegrino, characterized by narrow Streets and brick Palaces. Transfer back to Villa castrucci, free dinner and overnight at Villa Castrucci.
Day 6: Tour of the Val d’Orcia, Brunello tasting in Montalcino
International breakfast. Transportation with driver and Tour Leader to Montalcino where we will visit the Farmhouse and famous Vineyard “Fanti”. Guided Tour of the Cellars and Wine Tasting of 3 Glasses of Rosso di Montalcino and Brunello Wine, the Worldwide famous Wine produced with 100% Sangiovese Grapes. Lunch in Montalcino with three courses antipasto, primo piatto and dessert. Drive through the gentle hills of the Val d’Orcia which belongs to the Unesco list. Stop on the way for the most amazing pictures in Bagno Vignoni, the cypress paths and Pienza, the ideal city built during the Renaissance famous also for the Pecorino cheese DOP. Free time for dinner and overnight at Villa Castrucci
Day 7: Breakfast at Villa Castrucci and free day to relax at the swimming pool or at sea
International breakfast at Villa Castrucci. Day 8: Vineyard visit, Cheese & Olive Oil Tasting
International breakfast at Villa Castrucci. Today we visit the wine estate at Scansano to try the Morellino di Scansano, local wine made with Sangiovese grape, one of the best wines from Tuscany. We also have some Cheese & Olive oil tasting to taste the DOP Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Return back at Villa Castrucci, where you can organize your day with excursions to the near Pitigliano, Saturnia, Castiglione della Pescaia or you can just relax at the villa enjoying the pleasure of the “dolce far niente” the sweetness of doing nothing. Free time for lunch and dinner. Overnight at Villa Castrucci
Day 9: Free day to organize your own Experience
Free day to organize your own Experience around the Etruscan territory. We can help you organize some excursion on spot if needed. Possibility to visit Siena, Orvieto, or other Etruscan Hill Towns.
Day 10: Check out
Today we leave Villa castrucci at 9 am and we say goodbye to you. We are sure you will have some wonderful memories about this trip. We can organize a transfer to the airport if needed
