ROME TRAVEL PACKAGE: detailed program

Day 1: ARRIVAL IN ROME, WELCOME TOUR AND DINNER

Arrival at the International Airport of Rome. We welcome you at the Airport and introduce you to the Eternal City. Transfer with private minibus to your hotel/apartment. In the evening experience a guided Tour of the city centre of Rome with our authorized local guide to see some of the most famous piazzas of Rome such as Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain and Spanish steps. 

For dinner we booked a table in one of our favorite restaurants near to your hotel to try some roman plates such as Pasta Carbonara, saltimbocca alla romana, wine and dessert. Overnight in Rome.

Day 2: BIKE TOUR OF ROME TO SEE THE HIGHLIGHTS, DINNER AT TRASTEVERE

At 10 am we start a bike tour with authorized guide to see Rome’s highlights.   

We drive through the ruins of the Ancient Rome and stop at the colosseum (from outside), at the circus maximus and on top of the Capitol Hill to admire the best view of the Roman forum. 

We have a coffee at the Pantheon and cross the bridge of the angels where we take a photo to Castel Sant’angelo. Gelato stop at the Vatican and after a 4 hours bike tour you have free to time to relax for lunch.  Free afternoon to discover the hidden secrets of Rome on your own. 

In the evening we booked a table at Le Mani in Pasta, one of our favorite restaurants in the most authentic districts of Rome: Trastevere. You can try some Roman specialities such as Pasta Cacio e Pepe and some antipasti misti, vino della casa and a dessert. Overnight in Rome.

Day 3: FREE DAY AND DINNER IN PIZZERIA

 Today you can enjoy some shopping in Rome, explore the hidden secrets of the city or you can book a tour of the Colosseum, Vatican or some Food tour of Rome. 

For dinner we booked a table at one of our favorite pizzerias Ai Balestrari near the lively Campo dei Fiori. Overnight in Rome.

Day 4: TOUR OF CASTELLI ROMANI AND WINE TASTING IN FRASCATI

Today we enjoy the Castelli Romani Area located 20 km south of Rome. We have a stop in a winery in Frascati where we visit the cellars, the vineyards and have a wine tasting with three different glasses of Frascati DOC. You have the possibility to buy some bottles to bring home if you want. After the wine tasting let’s have a walk in Frascati where we have a lunch in a typical fraschetta where we have a tagliere with typical cold cuts such as porchetta, salami, prosciutto, cheese, pasta and some typical biscuits. We also stop at Castel Gandolfo for a short visit of the Papal palace (from outside), overlooking the nice lake of Albano. We return back to Rome by train. Overnight in Rome.

Day 5: DEPARTURE FROM ROME

En väl arrangerad guidad tur med vår kunniga auktoriserade guide Erik (som talar i vart fall 3 språk; svenska, italienska och engelska) och med tillägg av en hyrbil med chaufför som körde oss säkert och bra mellan sevärdheterna. Absolut värt varenda euro. Boka gärna Erik för en tur i Rom.

Erik är mycket underhållande och kunnig. Vi fick en behaglig rundvandring till dom klassiska sevärdheterna. Erik blandar fakta med koppling till språkkunskap, Bibeln och historiska händelser med dagsaktuella händelser. Humor och ödmjukhet igenom hela dagen. Pausen med klassisk och lokal Romersk mat och vin förgyller dagen. Även här får vi skämtsamma kopplingar till Italiensk vardag och matkultur. Vi alla i vårt sällskap 13 till 80 år fick en härlig, underhållande och lärorik dag bland Roms bästa sevärdheter.

Erik är en fantastisk guide som engagerar alla med en perfekt balanserad mängd information. Han fångar enkelt upp vilken nivå han ska lägga sig på och involverar både vuxna och barn med uppgifter och frågor.
